Meet Jesus

Jesus Christ is the center of the Christian faith and the hope of the world. Whether you’re exploring Christianity for the first time or returning after a long season away, we want to help you meet the real Jesus—the One who knows you, loves you, and invites you into a new life with Him.

Who Is Jesus?

Christians believe Jesus is God’s Son, fully God and fully human. He entered our world to reveal God’s heart, rescue us from sin, and restore us to the life we were created for.

If you’re new to the story of Jesus, these passages are a great place to begin:

  • John 1:1–14 — Jesus, the eternal Word, becomes flesh

  • Mark 1:14–15 — Jesus announces the good news of God’s kingdom

  • John 3:16–17 — God’s love expressed through the gift of His Son

  • Romans 5:6–11 — Christ’s sacrificial love for sinners

  • 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 — The death and resurrection of Jesus, the heart of the gospel

What Is the Gospel?

The word gospel means good news—the announcement of what God has done through Jesus to save sinners and restore creation.

  • God created us for life with Him. He made the world good and made us in His image (Genesis 1).

  • We turned away. All of us have sinned—choosing our own way instead of God’s—and that separation brings spiritual death (Romans 3:23; 6:23).

  • Jesus came to rescue us. He lived the perfect life we failed to live, died in our place, and rose again to defeat sin and death (Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 3:18).

  • Through Jesus, God offers forgiveness and new life. Salvation is a gift of grace—received, not earned (Ephesians 2:8–9).

How Do I Receive This Gift? — Repentance and Faith

The Bible teaches that salvation is received through repentance and faith (Mark 1:15; Acts 20:21).

Repentance

Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God.
It is:

  • Acknowledging that your way is broken

  • Letting go of self‑rule

  • Turning toward Jesus as the true King

Repentance is not about perfection—it’s about a new direction.

Faith

Faith means trusting Jesus—resting your whole weight on who He is and what He has done.
It is:

  • Believing Jesus died and rose for you

  • Relying on His grace, not your goodness

  • Entrusting your life to Him as Savior and Lord

Repentance and faith always go together: turning from sin and turning to Christ.

How Do I Respond? — The ABC’s

The ABCs are not the gospel—they’re a simple way to remember how we respond after hearing the gospel.

A — Admit

Admit your sin and your need for God’s grace.

B — Believe

Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again for you.

C — Confess

Confess Jesus as Lord—publicly acknowledging your trust in Him and committing to follow Him.

A Simple Call to Faith

If you sense God drawing you to Himself, you can respond right now. There’s no magic formula—just an honest heart turning to Jesus.

Here is a prayer you can use as a guide:

Jesus, I admit my need for You. I have sinned and cannot save myself.
I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me new life.
I confess You as my Savior and Lord. I turn from my sin and trust You fully.
Lead me, forgive me, and make me new. Amen.
